(WR) The initial settlement bonus of up to €100,000 has been confirmed, with greater benefits for inland and mountainous areas.

“Generazione Terra,” the land management tool promoted by ISMEA , will be relaunched in 2026. This tool is in line with the Ministry of Agriculture’s strategy for food sovereignty and forestry, aimed at promoting access to land for younger generations and supporting generational turnover in agriculture. The green light was approved yesterday by the Institute’s Board of Directors.

The measure, which finances up to 100% of the purchase of agricultural land, is aimed at under 41s already active in the agricultural sector, who intend to expand their business, and at young startuppers who wish to start a new business in agriculture , both with experience and in possession of adequate educational qualifications.

With a budget of €120 million for 2026 , “Generazione Terra” is the only land development instrument in Europe based on a retention of title agreement , which provides for the purchase of land by ISMEA and its simultaneous assignment to young applicants. The operation requires the debt to be repaid with a two-year grace period and a mortgage with a maximum total term of 30 years, with the option for beneficiaries to request, after at least five years, a review of the interest rate applied to the loan, if it is favorable.

From a financial perspective, “Generazione Terra” provides access to funding of up to €1.5 million (€500,000 for startups with a degree). Young startups are also offered a start-up bonus of up to €100,000, which is awarded to reduce the initial repayment installments until the plan is completed—with a greater impact in inland and mountainous areas.

As a further demonstration of our commitment to the most vulnerable areas, starting this year, a 10% share of the total resources made available has been exclusively dedicated to initiatives located in inland and mountainous areas .

Since 2011, the ISMEA has completed 765 land transactions , covering a total area of 27,000 hectares and with a transaction value of €483 million . The criteria, approved by the Board of Directors, will be published on the ISMEA website in the coming days, while the application portal will be open from April 22nd to June 19th .

“Generazione Terra is a fundamental tool, in line with the guidelines of the Meloni Government and Minister Lollobrigida, which helps young people become agricultural entrepreneurs and overcome initial difficulties of an economic nature and access to land. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the agricultural associations for the valuable insights they provided in developing the new edition of the measure.” . This is what the President of ISMEA, Livio Proietti and the General Director Sergio Marchi declared.
