(WR) On the evening of June 11th, the first edition of “Luxury Wine & Cigars” took place in the splendid garden of the Conti Sports Center in Anzio. This exclusive event, organized by WineReporter, transformed a simple tasting into an authentic sensory and cultural journey.

The participation of over 50 select guests confirmed the growing interest in quality food and wine experiences. The presence of many young people was particularly appreciated, who followed every moment of the evening with curiosity and attention, demonstrating how the culture of wine and good living can also engage the younger generations.

The event’s star performers were four wines of extraordinary quality: two prestigious interpretations of Amarone della Valpolicella (Sartori’s Corte Brà 2018 and Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde 2015) and two refined versions of Francesco Intorcia Heritage’s Marsala (Virgine Secco 2015 and Riserva Superiore Oro semisecco 2015) , specially selected to offer a tasting experience rich in nuance and personality. Each glass was accompanied by a description of its terroir, production techniques, and sensory characteristics, illustrated by Umberto Gambino, editor-in-chief of WineReporter.

Further enriching the experience were the original food pairings, designed to highlight the characteristics of the wines offered. A far-from-the-ordinary offering, featuring refined flavors and unconventional pairings that surprised and captivated the attendees.

The evening was enhanced by presentations by the Friends of the Tuscan Cigar Club . Francesco Primo took guests on a fascinating journey through the history, traditions, and curiosities of the famous Italian cigar. Also garnering great interest was the presentation by young blender Asia Scannella, who captivated the audience by describing the selection of raw materials, the manufacturing process, and the universe of scents and aromas that characterize the Tuscan cigar.

A refined, engaging, and richly informative event, conceived by Rosa Scannella, successfully combined culture, conviviality, and quality, offering participants a memorable experience marked by excellence.

Thanks to all the participants who, with their enthusiasm and presence, contributed to the evening’s success. Thanks to the Conti Sports Center for their hospitality, to the producers who participated with their wines, and to the speakers who shared their expertise and passion. See you at future meetings, with the same desire to discover, share, and celebrate the culture of taste.
